Not sure if this is the place to make a bug report, but after upgrading from v2 release to v3 Beta 2 I get an error. The error occurs whenever I try to apply any settings whatsoever.

Code

An error has occurred while saving the settings.
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Version: 3.0 Beta 2
OS: Windows 10 (x64) [Fully updated]
.NET Versions Installed: 2, 3, 3.5, 4.0, 4.6

Would you be able to send us a debug log? Here are the steps:
  • On the Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal"
  • Restart VoiceBot
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Send us the VoiceBot.log and DebugInfo.html files (can be found by clicking the Open Log button on the Troubleshooting tab)
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Thanks!

From what I can tell some settings are still being applied, regardless of the error prompt.
Upon attempting to apply my setting changes on the Debug logging level, I received an error.
I checked

Code

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Binary Fortress Software\VoiceBot
and found that

Code

LogDebugLevel
was being updated every time I clicked "Apply" in the settings.

It should be noted that there was no DebugInfo.html or html file of any sort in the log folder.
I even set the logging level to 3 but still none was ever generated. For this error log I cleared it and then clicked apply which immediately caused the error. So the entire log is all within the same second of when the error occurred.

See time stamp

Code

2016/04/19 22:41:47.626
for the exact point at which the error occurred.
I've redacted my license key from the log and prepended a note to the top of the log, no other edits were made.

We believe we've found the object reference error and it should be all fixed up for the next beta. We'll post a quick update here when the beta is available :)

Thanks!

We've just released a new VoiceBot Beta and this issue should be all fixed up. Please let us know if you still run into any trouble after updating.

Thanks!
