I had voicebot working fine, then after i had closed and re-opened it it stopped detecting my microphone. It can see my microphone is there, but no sound is getting through to the software. I've tried a few different things but nothing has worked. It would be really helpful if I knew the solution to this, thanks!

If you go to Windows Setttings > Privacy > Microphone and scroll down the list of desktop apps that are allowed to access the mic, do any of them show that they are currently using the mic?

No, it doesn't say it is currently being used. It says it was last used when it was working

VoiceBot is showing it was last accessed on that date? Are any of the other apps in the list showing a more recent date/time?

OBS shows that it still works, and was accessed at a more recent date

Do any of the other apps show the mic as currently in use when VoiceBot is running?

Could you try this?

  • Right-click the volume icon in the system tray and choose "Sounds"
  • Click the Recording tab
  • Click your microphone and click Properties
  • On the Advanced tab, disable the "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" option
  • Click OK
  • Restart VoiceBot, does it make any difference?

I tried this but it didnt fix the problem. It also still doesn't say the microphone has been accessed by voicebot.

Ok, this is a long shot, but could you try updating to the latest VoiceBot Beta?
https://www.voicebot.net/Download/Beta/

If you could also send me a debug log from the beta, that would be great:

Could you send me a debug log?
  • On the VoiceBot Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal" and click Apply
  • Restart VoiceBot
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button on the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Reply with the file attached
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Unfortunately I haven't been able to track down anything specific for this, but we're looking into a few issues with VoiceBot failing to recognize audio input. Can you try updating to the latest version just to confirm it still happens there? Thanks!

Sorry to Dig this up. I just installed and can't see my mic at all also.
When I go to test the command, it seems the mic is recognized but the program says no audio input is detected.....??????
I have a M-Audio Air 192|8 as my audio interface.

*Update* Went into my "sounds" and made sure everything was pointing to my interface.... Works now.... Cheers.

I have the same problem and nothing seems to work. When I installed it, it never asked for permission to use my microphone nor anything like that. I looked up a turorial and apparently in the main screen, a little sound wave appears with the volume of your voice but I dont have that. What do I do?

There are a couple of things you can check for VoiceBot not detecting audio input:
* Is there a profile loaded? On a new install there may not be any profiles installed yet.
* Is VoiceBot paused? Try toggling the pause setting in the main toolbar and make sure the log reads "VoiceBot listening"
* Is the correct audio device selected in the VoiceBot audio dropdown (on the right side of the main toolbar)? Try swapping devices there and make sure VoiceBot indicates it is listening on the correct device.

If these all check out, you can try double checking your microphone's settings through Windows Settings > System > Sound, scrolling to the "Input" section and making sure there is input recording through your microphone there. You can also double check that the microphone isn't muted in Windows by going to the Input section above, clicking on "Devices Properties" for the microphone (make sure the volume in that screen is at 100), and then clicking "Additional device properties" on the right side, going to the "levels" tab, and ensuring the microphone isn't muted there.

Hmm, if you follow the steps from here, are the settings the same between the new microphone and your existing ones that aren't working?
